Something to brighten the morning?

DAVID still banging on about knickers, stockings and flying  asparagus this week. With the pic of Terry Thomas changed to one of John Major.

"NO KNICKERS this week, nor stockings, nor asparagus. Its been a quiet time on the flying out of the top-flat window front, but not on the jumping, or 10 Downing Street front. Who could have watched Overturn's exuberant debut over Sandown's fences last Saturday without remembering the great days of Tingle Creek and Pinkie? Anyone under 50, I suppose ....

David kindly pops in a clue about Pinkie for all those of us over 50 "Tingle Creek and Pinkie both of them chestnuts with white blazes." narrows the guessing game down to the four legged variety, a mega step forward in the right direction, thanks for that David ....

One of these horseshoes belonged to
TINGLE CREEK

But wondering now if there is one of PINKIE'S shoes here as well?

The Tingle Creek has been dominated by the Paul Nicholls yard over the past few years with Kauto Star, Twist Magic and Master Minded all winning the race twice each and the Champion Trainer will no doubt have a strong hand once again this season.

YES, YES, YES .... YEP YEP YEP

OVERTURN LOOKS A MAJOR PLAYER BUT WOULD HE HAVE LIVED WITH PINKIE?
Wondering about Pinkie ... Was PINKIE,  TINGLE CREEKS, BULLET TRAIN?  Oh no, reading on a little further Pinkie was not a racehorse in training. In perspective the life and times of Pinkie taken out of context here .... David goes on ....

“OVERTURNS zest for life and racing perks everyone up. OVERTURN now promises to be the best triple-purpose horse since well, perhaps ever.

“ Ever the front - running OVERTURN is unlikely to match TINGLE CREEK’S  performance at Sandown, in 1973 when he broke the course record, and again in 1978 when he broke it again. He won 23 of his 49 chases, carrying over 12 stone.

Doesn’t sound like the new man taking over from Gillespie at Cheltenham, Ian Renton, is too keen about growing a moustache for next November’s Movember. I don’t expect either of them have a clue what’s going to win the Paddy Power “ (Saturday November 17th 2.55)

RP SUNDAY THE BIG READ

THE COMMANDER  returns  Peter Thomas interview Nigel Twiston-Davies as his Gold Cup winner is poised for a comeback. "There's lots to look forward to, starting with Saturday ....... Complimented by Edward Whitaker's photographs that say it all ... yes, yes yes.

PLUS PIC OF  "A delighted RUBY WALSH giving AL FEROF a pat on the neck after winning the Paddy Power yesterday in some style, the look in AL FEROF  eye confirms that he knows he is the real deal, and he knows also that the man onboard is the real deal as well. A great, great photograph, on a stormy day at Cheltenham.
